The Metroparks have a vast library of virtual resources for homeschool & remote learning for kids of all ages. Scavenger hunts, coloring pages, an educational video series, at-home crafts, and Metropark Trail Guides are among the resources and fun.
The Metroparks already had a small virtual resources page on metroparks.com before the covid-19 pandemic, but the resource library exploded with fun and educational content when the shutdowns began. Metroparks staff and worked tirelessly to help the “suddenly home-school” parents.
The are scavenger hunts on the page are to print and take to your local Metropark to have your children complete while you explore the park. Each hunt has several fun things to search for. Some are easy enough for the very young, and some are challenging for older children.
Metroparks Naturalists and the Metropark Nature Centers have long been a go to resource for homeschool parents and school field trips. I’m excited to see a page where the learning can begin at home. I’m looking forward to even more videos.
