Review and pics of MJR Grand Digital Cinema on Maple Rd in Troy MI just west of Rochester Rd. MJR Troy Grand Digital Cinema 16 has 16 screens and is a new and modern facility. Obviously, all movie theatres have gone digital, but MJR was one of the first to switch from film to digital and that is how and when they got their name.

Being that MJR Troy is so new, it has benefited with some of the latest movie theatre features to better your movie watching experience. MJR Troy Grand Digital Cinema 16 has one of the largest screens in Michigan. It’s called the Epic Experience. This one theatre has plenty of premiums for an “Epic Experience”. There are larger, all leather seats in the entire theatre. So, no matter where you sit, you’re in a prime seat. Plus, the aisle ways are all super wide and oversized for people to walk through without bumping into your legs or stepping on your feet. But most shocking of all is the 45×84 movie screen (also measured as 4 stories by 8 stories) and a Dolby Atmos sound system with 49 speakers placed all around the theatre. Most theatres typically have 17-18 speakers so this is a big jump in sound. MJR Troy reserves this theatre for the flicks that have the massive effects.

All of the theatres at MJR Troy have wall to wall screens. And with it being all new, it was built using better site lines of 21 inch risers so nobody’s head will get in your way.

Concessions at MJR Troy are pretty standard, with a nice little addition of some cookies for sale. There are free refills on popcorn and drinks (one free refill). There’s a large digital screen that plays trailers in the lobby at the concession stand, giving customers something to watch while they wait in line.

MJR Troy has a Studio bar which is a full service bar with TV’s. Customers can have a drink before or after the show, and catch the game while waiting or just hanging out after the movie. Customers can take beverages into the show as well.
