Palm Palace Auburn Hills CLOSED

Palm Palace Auburn Hills CLOSED. Palm Palace in Auburn Hills closed suddenly. Here is our old review, pics, and info for that Palm Palace location. Palm Palace is located across the street from Oakland University on Squirrel Rd. Palm Palace restaurant is decorated inside and out in a traditional Mediterranean style.

I went to Palm Palace for the first time recently but it definitely won’t be my last. Our visit began with the traditional serving of garlic sauce and pita bread. The garlic sauce at Palm Palace was a perfect creamy, smooth dip that was not too spicy. I tried it with fresh vegetables and it was great. I wanted to try many different things on the menu so our table ordered a bunch of appetizers to share since this was my first time there and I looked forward to a nice sampling.

I had a house salad which had the quality and great taste you come to expect with the Mediterranean restaurants. A nice touch of lemon and seasonings in the dressing and plenty of mixed greens and vegetables.

We also ordered the vegetarian stuffed grape leaves, the Palm Palace award-winning hommus, and the Baba Ghanoush.

The hommus at Palm Palace is definitely worthy of its accolades. I was even more impressed by the Baba Ghanoush. It was the first time I tried it and I loved it. Baba Ghanoush is fire roasted eggplant with Tahini, lemon juice and garlic. Based on the description, it wasn’t what I expected. It had the texture and look of hommus, but a deeper, smoky flavor. Palm Palace has a very flavorful Baba Ghanoush. From what I’ve heard, it’s better than what you’d find elsewhere. I guess I set the bar high by trying this one first.

The vegetarian stuffed grape leaves at Palm Palace are also great. The grape leaves are stuffed with tomato, onion, parsley, rice and spices, and cooked with lemon, vegetable juice and olive oil. I was dipping these in the Baba Ghanoush, hommus and garlic sauce rather than the yogurt sauce that it was served with… just because it was all so good.

Other items on the Palm Palace menu include fresh squeezed juices, fattoush, tabulee, tawook dishes, kabobs, shwarma plates, ghallaba, and much more. Gluten-free items are conveniently designated on the Palm Palace menu. I have been eating gluten-free, dairy free, and meat free lately… and there was plenty on the Palm Palace menu to choose from.
