Sea Life Michigan Responds to Concerns Over Admission Prices – Sea Life Michigan at Great Lakes Crossing talks to Oakland County Moms about complaints they’ve received regarding their admission prices.
I was invited to tour Michigan Sea Life Aquarium at Great Lakes Crossing last week with other members of the media. In addition to my review and pics, I included the admission prices for Sea Life Michigan. As soon as I published the article and posted it on facebook, many of you expressed your concerns about the prices and many stated that the prices would likely keep them from visiting Michigan Sea Life Great Lakes Crossing. You can view the facebook comments here and see more comments at the bottom of my review from last week.
Sea Life Michigan Admission Prices
$23.50 per adult
$18.50 per child
$230 per Family of four annual pass
more pricing info is available at www.visitsealife.com/Michigan
I reached out to Michigan Sea Life Aquarium to see if they wanted to respond to the consumers who felt that the price may be too high or that they likely wouldn’t visit Sea Life Great Lakes Crossing because of the prices. Here is their statement for Oakland County Moms’ readers:
On behalf of SEA LIFE Michigan
The SEA LIFE Michigan team truly did our best to offer a suitable price point for all guests. We are beyond grateful to everyone who took advantage of our pre-grand opening discounted prices. We honestly value everyone’s feedback on our prices and want to assure you that we have taken the comments into consideration.
We understand it’s hard to justify paying for something when you haven’t actually experienced it! To paint a picture, SEA LIFE Michigan’s highly themed aquarium will transport you into the amazing underwater world. Come nose to nose with sharks and prepare for astonishingly close views of our more than 5,000 sea creatures, from humble starfish and seahorses to graceful rays. To get any closer you’d have to get wet! Our goal is to not only entertain, but also educate our guests. There will be interactive touch screens with information about different species. Our “Interactive Dive Trail” will also provide facts about key species in some of our displays. Finally, guests can attend our fun talks to learn more, and our friendly staff is always available to answer questions.
The well being and care of our sea creatures is our main priority. Conservation is at the heart of our business, which operates a strategy of BREED RESCUE and PROTECT. Our team of expert aquarists works very hard to ensure our sea creatures are happy and healthy, which is a completely separate component of SEA LIFE Michigan, outside of entertaining and educating our guests.

We have the same thing here in Arizona with the same prices. Kids love it and it’s a huge education experience. Something to get kids interested in Nature instead of video games is A-ok in my book!
I think those creatures deserve to live in their own natural environment, not an entertainment center for humans. disgusting!!!
At a cost of almost $100 dollars for my family to go….that’s a little too steep! I thought the prices would be half of what they are asking! Looks like it would have been pretty neat though.
Welcome to the area. I am sure the aquarium will do fine here in Michigan. The mall in general will benefit from it and it will bring more jobs to the area. These negative comments do not help anybody. Hopefully a lot of children will learn more about sea life and some adults too. I can not imagine the costs involved with this type of establishment but the care and upkeep of the living creatures have to be astronomical. I have been to some of these aquariums and they are fabulous! Suggestion for those of you who are so worried about the ticket pricing buy one ticket for yourself and check it out. I do not know how you can make the comments without seeing the product… Kudos to the new aquarium!
I went and thought it was ausome I do not think the prices are that bad
We purchased an annual pass, prior to opening and have gone twice. It has almost paid for itself and we still have many months to go
I live 5 miles from it. I’m not spending that kind of money. That’s more than the 4 hour concerts I go to at Pine Knob(DTE) every summer. Ridiculous!!!
Went to something similar to this in Chattanooga, Tennessee and the price was around the same, it was well worth t he price, plus that helps to pay for upkeep n care for creatures, people pay more for electronics for their kids, don’t understand the uproar st least this is educational! !!
I would never pay 18.00 for my 1 yr old to go to an aquarium.prices r outrageous.
$67.00 + For Grandparents to take two young children. ! I searched and found much more and longer entertainment for the same price at man places. !
NOTE no Senior discounts, NOTE no Veterans discounts. They could make big profiits if and only if they had lower more reasonable prices. . IL bet currently they are never crowded. !
