Shark Lift Away Pro Steam Pocket Mop Review

Shark Lift Away Pro Steam Pocket Mop Review – review and video demo of Shark Lift Away Pro Steam Pocket Mop Model No S3901.

We’ve all been hearing about steam cleaners for years now. I have the original Scunci Steamer in my closet that I purchased from CVS years ago when it was an “As Seen On TV” product.

My mom recently purchased a Shark Lift Away Pro Steam Pocket Mop for me as a gift. She has one herself and has been hooked so she has been telling the world about the Shark Lift-Away Pro Steam Pocket Mop and buying one for everyone she knows.

Based on the instructions, the Shark Lift-Away Pro Steam Pocket Mop can be used on tile or hard wood floors. It can even be used on carpet as a refresher, but not as a cleaner. And, it kills Over 99.9% of Harmful Germs and Bacteria.

After trying the Shark Lift-Away Pro Steam Pocket Mop that my mom gave me, I have mixed feelings.

First of all, it’s so easy to use and so light, my nine-yr-old son could do it, and he did.

He used the Shark Lift-Away Pro Steam Pocket Mop on the tile floors of the kitchen, the hard wood floors in the dining room and hallway, and the tile floors in the bathrooms. He completely mopped it all in about 10 minutes. I even had him try the Shark Lift-Away Pro Steam Pocket Mop the day after the floors had already been washed, and the pad showed a small amount of dirt, and I was expecting none.

After a few days, I noticed that the hard wood floors looked smudgy. I figured somebody spilled something and stepped in it and spread it around a bit. I couldn’t wait to use the Shark Lift-Away Pro Steam Pocket Mop on it to clean it up. After running over it with the Shark Lift-Away Pro Steam Pocket Mop, I noticed that the hard wood floors looked cloudy and streaky. I’m used to the floors looking really shiny after being cleaned with a vinegar/water solution and some microfiber cloths. We have no pets and we don’t wear shoes in the house, so the floors are still high gloss and unscratched. Yet, they looked almost worse after using the Shark Lift-Away Pro Steam Pocket Mop.

However, the Shark Lift Away Pro Steam Pocket Mop worked well on the tiled floor. It was great to use the Shark Lift Away Pro Steam Pocket Mop on the kitchen floor. It melted and wiped away any dried up, hardened food or spills. And, it does it without any elbow grease. The Shark Lift-Away Pro Steam Pocket Mop is lightweight and easy to use. It did not clean the grout as it may claim in the commercials, but then again, what mop cleaner does? The Shark Lift Away Pro Steam Pocket Mop also has a pretty decent sized water tank, so you won’t need to stop and refill it too often.

The lift-away portion of this unit allows you to clean way more than floors. Press the release buttons and now you have a handheld steamer. The Shark Lift-Away Pro Steam Pocket Mop comes with attachments so you can use it on sinks, microwave hood fans, stove tops, sliding door tracks, and anything else that has stubborn dirt and grime, or when you don’t want to use harsh soaps/chemicals. The Shark Lift-Away Pro Steam Pocket Mop cleans and disinfects and you just wipe off any excess water and dirt. You can also use the Shark Lift-Away Pro Steam Pocket Mop to steam wrinkles out of clothing and drapes.

I tested the Shark Lift-Away Pro Steam Pocket Mop on a dirty pan, doorwall track, inside of an oven door, and on some grout. After taking video of these tests, I decided to pull out the Scunci Steamer and compare them.

Here’s a recap:

Scunci Steamer – wins in the jet power deparment; the steam spray is much stronger and steadier than the Shark. I prefer the Scunci for the handheld jobs.

Shark Lift-Away Pro Steam Pocket Mop – wins in the convenience department; being that it’s newer, it gets put together easier, has better moving parts… all in more ways than one. I prefer the Shark Lift Away Pro Steam Pocket Mop when cleaning floors.

Overall, I would say having the Shark Lift Away Pro Steam Pocket Mop as one of your cleaning tools is a good option, especially for tiled floors. It works for some jobs, but it’s not a do-all piece. If you go into it expecting that the Shark Lift-Away Pro Steam Pocket Mop will erase grout stains and clear shower grime with ease, you will be disappointed. But, if you realize how the Shark Lift-Away Pro Steam Pocket Mop can clean grease off a stove maybe easier than any cleaner you’ve tried, and if you’d rather steam disinfect your toilets than using a harsh toxic cleaner, you’ll be grateful to have it.

Just keep in mind that a steamer is not the miracle cleaner that it’s portrayed to be, but rather another option for cleaning something. And personally, I find it sometimes simpler to just use a spray-on cleaner and a rag – it’s faster than steaming the same area down with a narrow stream of steam.

Please note that I have only used the Shark Lift Away Pro Steam Pocket Mop two times so I cannot comment on the longevity of this product. I hope you find this Shark Lift Away Pro Steam Pocket Mop review helpful.
