Tamarack Lodge Traverse City offers different rooms to choose from that accommodate many – 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom, penthouse suite and more. We stayed in the larger 1-bedroom lodge at Tamarack Lodge and it’s someplace I would definitely go back again.

My husband and I are big fans of up north Michigan, and have visited the Petoskey/Harbor Springs area every year since our honeymoon. Traveling out to Traverse City was a step outside the norm for us, and we were pleasantly surprised and now happy to have another up north Michigan travel spot we love.

Tamarack Lodge in Traverse City, MI offers spacious condominium resort accommodations at affordable prices. The rooms at the Tamarack Lodge are fully stocked so it’s your home away from home (but with added perks and amenities). You will find a full kitchen with all appliances and cookware, washer/dryer, fireplace, TVs (42in in the main room and slightly smaller versions in the bedrooms), balcony with waterfront view, large bathrooms and showers, jetted tubs, DVD players in every room, and more. Everything is modern and nicely decorated… e.g. stainless steel appliances, modern kitchens and tiling… The rooms at Tamarack Lodge are also stocked with books and board games. There are local markets nearby in Traverse City so you can pick up some fresh seafood and meats for cooking in your room at Tamarack Lodge.

Tamarack Lodge also offers daily activities – food at the front desk, free DVD rentals, bonfires with s’mores, movie nights, a billiards table near the front desk, dessert social on Mondays, bagel breakfast on Saturdays, wine and cheese receptions, holiday events and so much more. The staff at Tamarack Lodge will supply you with event info at the lodge, as well as brochures of places you can visit locally. Whether you decide to stay in and enjoy the lodge, or head out and visit the city, you are minutes away from great things to do.

The Tamarack Lodge is cozy and located near plenty to do year-round, whether you’re vacationing alone, with a special someone, or with the whole family. Many know of the sand dunes Traverse City is famous for, but there’s so much more… snowshoeing, skiing, tubing, hiking, water sports fun, wineries, shopping, festivals… the list goes on and on. There’s no getting bored, it’s more about how to fit it all in during your trip up north.

I sat down with Janet from Tamarack Lodge before my review and asked her how does Traverse City cater to everyone year round? Janet replied, “Traverse City has become known as an all-season playground for adults and families. It is perfect for the outdoor enthusiast, summer brings hiking, biking, boating, fishing, and all water sports. We have so many beautiful beaches! Winter enthusiasts will find downhill and x-country skiing and snowmobiling. We have literally dozens of great wineries. They have been a major draw having won so many national and international awards. Also with orchards blooming in the Spring and the gorgeous Fall colors sightseeing is very popular! Of course, having such a terrific variety of places to enjoy great food is certainly a plus. This is such a “foodie town,” Bon appetite has named Traverse City as one of the Top 5 “foodie cities” in America. Many of the restaurants feature locally grown or produced ingredients. We also have an extensive list of cultural offerings. . .the Interlochen Arts, Traverse City has its own symphony, playhouse, and numerous art galleries! In Traverse City, being bored is not an option.”

It’s tough to get through it all in just a couple of days because there is so much to do and review in Traverse City – I didn’t know which way to go first. Just trying to hit up all the great restaurants would take days alone. I guess I’ll be heading back soon to Tamarack Lodge.
