Tom’s Oyster Bar has plenty of seafood options on the menu, including oysters prepared in many different ways, a fish stew, shrimp po’ boy, cod sliders, lobster tacos, sea scallops (the nice, big kind!), salmon, fish fry and so much more. There are also daily specials giving the menu a nice extension with more offerings. We started our meal with the mussels appetizer. It was made with milled corn, blistered tomato, jalapeno, cilantro and saffron. It was the best mussels I’ve ever had. Definitely no fishy smell even in the least, and definitely the best sauce. I actually kept the sauce and used it as a sauce topping for my salmon dish. I ordered the cajun salmon that was on special and the other people in my party ordered the sea scallops and Fisherman’s Stew. We were all happy with the flavor and freshness of our dishes. The food at Tom’s Oyster Bar is quality food and is prepared with a gourmet flair.
If you’re looking to fill up for cheap, this may not be the place for you. It is more the type of restaurant that has smaller serving sizes and higher prices. But, the food is good and I probably shouldn’t be eating the large quantities that are served in most restaurants anyway. These are more realistically healthy servings, however, I think the people would appreciate this more if the prices were more affordable and in line with the portion sizes. I noticed a few lower rates online relating to the pricing at Tom’s Oyster Bar.
The restaurant has online reservations available through their website and their Facebook page. Tom’s Oyster Bar also had outdoor seating during the warm months.
