Wilson’s is a casual family diner that serves up large portions of great food at reasonable prices. I’ve heard the breakfasts are excellent, but we visited Wilson’s Rivers Edge for dinner.
The menu offers a wide selection. There are made to order appetizers like the Reuben Wraps which are egg roll wraps filled with corned beef, sauerkraut and Swiss cheese, or the deep fried pickle chips, or the deep fried pepper jack cheese cubes, and more. Wilson’s also offers salads, sandwiches and burgers. Main entrees include seafood options like the traditional fish and chips, as well as steak and shrimp, broiled cod, potato crusted parmesan whitefish, etc. Other main dishes are the chicken fried chicken, liver and onions, roasted pork, and a homemade turkey dinner. The soups are homemade and are great. I had the cabbage soup and it was one of the best I’ve had. You will also find Gluten Free designated menu items at Wilson’s River Edge. Wilson’s River Edge also has a large soup and salad bar that can be added to your meal. There is also a full bar with beer, wine and some liquors.
If you’re looking to do breakfast at Wilson’s River Edge, you’ll find omelets, a skillet dish, eggs, pancakes, French Toast, waffles and more. Breakfast is served until 2p at Wilson’s River Edge.
The large portions don’t stop when it comes to the desserts. The Hot Fudge Sundae is so huge it takes 2 to finish it. And, it’s priced at about half of what other restaurants would charge for something like it.
There are no booths at Wilson’s, which is a slight downer for me, but the tables give it a family dining feel. Coffee mugs and paper placemats are set at each place setting in a true diner fashion.
