Mwindo – Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit presents MWINDO, a central African folktale full of trials and tribulations, heroic beings, fantastical creaters and puppets developed by Detroit Puppet Company in collaboration with Mosaic’s young artists. Guests that arrive 45 minutes before showtime for a special make-and-take puppet workshop. This is a FREE event.

Detroit Santa Claus Pet Photos – Detroit K-9’s team of professional photographers will photograph your family & pets in a beautiful holiday scene. A $5 donation is suggested with 100% of the photo proceeds benefiting Dog Aide, a non-profit organization with the mission to provide assistance to dog owners in the City of Detroit that are experiencing a financial hardship. Campus Martius Valentine’s Day Sweetheart Skate – What’s more romantic than gliding along the ice hand-in-hand with your sweetheart while enjoying majestic views of the Detroit skyline? The rink will be lit up with the colors of love and feel-good ballads and classic love songs will fill the air. All couples are welcome to join this celebration of love. Tickets and skate rentals may be purchased onsite at the park and are offered on a first come, first served basis. Admission – Adults $12, Under 12 $9.

Holly Memorial Day Ceremony –  A crowd of several thousand veterans, families, friends and the general public are expected to attend a Memorial Day Ceremony honoring deceased veterans interred at the Great Lakes National Cemetery. There will be patriotic music. The VFW State Honor Guard will present the colors and perform a rifle salute during the ceremony. Taps will also be played. Holly Memorial Day Parade – The Annual Holly Memorial Day Parade will begin in Downtown Holly (S Saginaw & E Maple St) and march over to Lakeside Cemetery for Memorial Day Services. Parade line-ups begin at 9:30a, parade starts at 10a. Hosted by American Legion Post 149 & VFW Post 5587.
