ABOUT OAKLAND COUNTY MOMS
About www.OaklandCountyMoms.com – Founded by Lisa LaGrou in 2005, Oakland County Moms is a community resource for moms and families in Metro Detroit and all of SE Michigan. Oakland County Moms began as RochesterMoms.com, Metro Detroit’s first “mommy blog,” when Lisa realized that there were no online family resources for the local Metro Detroit area. Lisa married her husband in 1999 and promptly moved to Rochester Hills, Michigan to start a family. Upon the arrival of her first child, Lisa started up LaGrou Designs LLC in an effort to secure free-lance graphic design work and other publishing ventures.
LaGrou started www.RochesterMoms.com in 2005 which grew from her vision to provide web-based solutions for parenting issues while helping local moms and families become aware of the fun family events and amazing resources available right here in Metro Detroit. Rochester Moms quickly expanded and became Oakland County Moms due to the proliferation of pageviews and interested advertisers.
Lisa currently lives in Rochester Hills with her husband Glen and their two children, Jayson and Lindsey. Lisa enjoys spending time with her family, a good Bloody Mary, her successful home business, her children, her husband, riding her motorcycle, and ALL kinds of fitness.
ABOUT GLEN LAGROU – OAKLAND COUNTY MOMS CO-FOUNDER, EDITOR IN CHIEF

Glen LaGrou has lived in Metro Detroit, Michigan his entire life. He grew up in Fraser, Michigan and a family move took him to Shelby Township when he was 10. Upon graduating from Utica Eisenhower, Glen went on to Macomb Community College to receive his Associate’s Degree and then transferred to Oakland University where he received is Bachelor’s Degree in General Studios with Minors in Psychology and Human Resources.
Upon graduating from OU in ’95, LaGrou landed an internship at then fledgling WDFN – Detroit’s first all-sports radio station. Glen quickly turned his unpaid internship into a full-time Producer gig on WDFN’s Jamie and Gregg Show. After a short haitus to work at GMAC and later Entech Personnel in Troy, he returned to WDFN as a Senior Producer. LaGrou left WDFN in 2003 to join upstart WXYT as PM Drive Producer for The Lockerroom with Gary Danielson and Eli Zaret. Glen remained PM Drive Producer through various PM drive pairings before striking PPM ratings gold as producer of the Valenti and Foster Show on 97.1 The Ticket. Along the way, Glen married and started a family with wife, Lisa and moved to Rochester Hills.
While LaGrou’s wife Lisa launched Rochester Moms and Oakland County Moms at home, Glen became webmaster at his job for WXYT FM / CBS Radio Detroit. Under LaGrou’s guidance, CBS Detroit property www.971TheTicket.com became the largest CBS Radio Detroit website within its 5 radio station cluster surpassing even www.WWJ.com.
Glen LaGrou left his 14 year sports radio career in 2009 to help his wife manage the overwhelming content and sales effort of Oakland County Moms. Glen found that managing a “moms” website wasn’t altogether different from producing a 4 hour daily sports talk show or content managing a male-oriented website at WXYT – it’s all about programming for a dedicated audience. Glen wanted to tinker with Oakland County Moms’ already succesful formula. Glen’s vision was to expand OCM to become a “community resource”. This opened up all new avenues for content, advertisers, and OCM’s demographic as a whole. Allowing Glen to become Editor in Chief freed up Lisa to pursue sales leads for OCM and allowed her to become the face of all PR and marketing efforts.
Glen LaGrou is a guitar-playing, biker newbie, Van Halen-loving, fitness obsessed father of 2.
