It may sound like a strange combination, but this dip recipe tastes great! I had some items on hand that I love, so I thought putting them together would make for a nice dip.
I’ll preface this with I am very guilty for NOT measuring things (blame it on my Italian mother) so please use these as suggested quantities and adjust to suit your palette.
Red Pepper Hummus Guacamole Dip Recipe Ingredients
- 1 can chickpeas (15 oz), drained and rinsed
- 1/4 cup diced onion
- 3 large cloves of garlic
- 3/4 cup roasted red peppers
- 1 large avocado
- 2 tsp tahini
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- juice of 1 medium lime
- salt to taste

I like my hummus/guacamole smooth so I use a food processor and keep it going til I get the texture I like. Start by pulsing the chickpeas, onion, and garlic in a food processor or blender until smooth. Add the red peppers, avocado, tahini, cumin, cayenne pepper, onion powder, cilantro, lime, and salt. Pulse again until well mixed and smooth. Serve with tortilla chips, pita chips, bruschetta bread, or crackers.
