Mackinaw Trail Winery and Brewery review, pics, hours, and info. Located in Petoskey, MI off of US 131 on 30 acres of rolling hills with 15 acres of grape-filled vines. Upon entering the winery/brewery, you will see the beautiful views on the winding road that leads to the tasting room.

After hearing about how this winery is one of the most medaled wineries in the north, I had to try it out.
The winery/brewery has indoor and outdoor seating. My friend and I were lucky enough to score the only mosaic table inside the winery – super unique and interesting. We happily ordered a flight each, along with something to eat. They offer a great menu of small plates and appetizers that pair well with wine and beer.
We ordered the Farmers Board which included a spread of thinly sliced prosciutto, hard salami, pepperoni, pickled vegetables, whole grain mustard, and assorted cheeses served with a French baguette. Other menu options include soft pretzel bites, hummus, dips, salami/cheese plate, and an Italian wrap. The summer menu has even more options.
The more wineries I visit, the more knowledgeable I become. And, it becomes easier to compare and decide what are my favorites. The winery offers a fantastic Frontenac Gris wine, and I also truly enjoyed the strawberry rhubarb fruit wine which is something I would never have given a second thought to since it’s on the sweeter side, but it was really good. The full wine collection includes dry white wines, dry red wines, sparkling wines, semi-dry wines, sweet wines, fruit wines, and hard cider.
You can purchase many of their items on their online store, as well as a wine club that will get vintner and tasting room manager selected wines delivered to your door every April and November.
The property offers a wedding setup on the grounds as well with a paver walkway entrance, a gazebo, seating and a small pond.
Overall, Mackinaw Trail Winery & Brewery ranks up there as one of my favorite wineries in Petoskey and all of Northern Michigan. It was definitely one of the priciest, but worth it.
