Boulan Park Troy review, pics, and shelter / pavilion info. Operated and maintained by the City of Troy MI, Boulan Park is 63 acres located on Crooks Rd between Big Beaver and Wattles Rd. Boulan is Troy’s 2nd largest community park and is similar in size and features as Firefighters Park (off of Square Lake Rd). Besides location, there are a few differences.

Boulan Park is expansive and wide-open. It’s mainly ball fields and not a lot of shade. The open space allows for many ball fields, and a ton of parking. So much area and parking that the City of Troy hosts many of their civic events at the park. Even the huge Troy Daze carnival / festival used to use Boulan Park as its home location.

Boulan is a sports before nature park. It has soccer fields, baseball diamonds with modern scoreboards, well-kept tennis courts, sand volleyball courts, and plenty of space to manuever between fields and courts.
In addition to the sports, Boulan has 2 fairly large playscapes that almost connect in a playground area. There are a great things about this playground. 1 – one of the playscapes is handicap accessible. 2 – both playscapes are in close proximity to parking AND indoor restrooms!

Like Firefighters Park, Boulan Park offers a great deal in the way of sports. Firefighters is the soccer fields park (it has more of them), and Boulan is better for tennis and baseball. Boulan is more modern and has better amenities (better ball fields, modern playground equipment, modern pavilions). Firefighters Park is far more scenic though.
