Loving Earth, Loving All – Earth Day Celebration – The event will offer free native flower seedlings, local seeds, information on invasive species, what to plant, pollinators, a tour of the ‘deer resistant’ garden, activities for youth, and more. To learn more about the event email office@
Indian Springs Metropark Earth Day Camp – Day camp for kids will cover the basics of reduce, reuse, recycle. Campers will learn to be more conscious visitors in the parks and in nature. Enjoy lots of fun projects and crafts. Please bring a lunch and wear clothes that can get messy. Ages 7+. $40 per person. Pre-registration is required online or by calling 248-625-7280. Food Trucks & FREE Family Fun – The event features a variety of Food Trucks and Free entertainment for the family including stilt walkers, magicians, balloon twisters, and music in the Festival Park. Paint Creek Center for the Arts will be in Festival Park giving out complimentary take-away potted flower plants, to decorate at home, to the first 100 kids in attendance. Additionally, a variety of stores will be featuring specials & sips throughout the day while offering assistance as you look to find that perfect gift for mom. Telly’s Greenhouse will be selling hanging baskets and porch pots onsite. Food trucks include – Don Armando’s Taqueria, Little Donut Factory, General Dogs, D’Vine Cookies. This is a FREE event. Mother’s Day Brunch at the Village of Rochester Hills – Mother’s Day brunch and dinner options at the The Village’s sit-down restaurants. Bravo! Italian Kitchen will be offering a lovely brunch featuring made-to-order scramblers and hand-crafted cocktails and a dinner menu with endless pasta options. Jagged Fork has an unlimited selection of breakfast and brunch options from pancakes to French toast to omelets & skillets for a perfect way to start the day. Maybe dinner is the way to go. MetroBarks Dog Walking Club at Indian Springs Metropark – Prepare to walk between one to three miles along our paved trail, with stops along the way for your pups to sniff, explore and rest. Dogs are required to remain on a 6-foot leash. Please be prepared to clean up your pet’s waste. If your dog is having a bad day or displaying aggressive behaviors, you may be asked to leave the program early. Ages 8+. $3 per child / $5 per adult. Educational activities, crafting, and guided hikes will explore exciting ways to turn backyard fun into an eco-friendly adventure the whole family can enjoy. A new subject each month. Indian Springs Metropark Butterfly Walk – Learn about these amazing insects and the role they play as pollinators. Then journey through the prairie to search for the variety of native plants that make Indian Springs Metropark a great butterfly habitat, and hopefully see some of the butterflies themselves. You’ll be able to take home some seeds to grow a pollinator-friendly space in your own yard. All ages. $3 per child / $5 per adult / under 2 FREE.
