Oakland County Moms Calendar of Metro Detroit Summer Events
Mwindo – Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit presents MWINDO, a central African folktale full of trials and tribulations, heroic beings, fantastical creaters and puppets developed by Detroit Puppet Company in collaboration with Mosaic’s young artists. Guests that arrive 45 minutes before showtime for a special make-and-take puppet workshop. This is a FREE event.
Detroit Halloween Bash – Food and drink will be available for purchase. There will be music, a dog costume parade at 6p, pick up a free trick-or-treat bag for your pet, raffle baskets, a 50/50 drawing and more. Detroit Santa Claus Pet Photos – Detroit K-9’s team of professional photographers will photograph your family & pets in a beautiful holiday scene. A $5 donation is suggested with 100% of the photo proceeds benefiting Dog Aide, a non-profit organization with the mission to provide assistance to dog owners in the City of Detroit that are experiencing a financial hardship. Detroit New Year’s Eve Kids Countdown – Enjoy live entertainment, NYE activities, food trucks, winter lights displays and a countdown and balloon drop. This is a FREE event. Hosted by Downtown Detroit Partnership.

Get outside, explore and have fun with this monthly program for children 7-12 years old at the Kensington Metropark Nature Center.Learn about birds, starting fires, stalking animals or catching insects, each month will focus on connecting with the world around us, deepening naturalist knowledge and learning new outdoor skills. Troy Sports Day – Conveniently held at Troy High School, local youth sports organizations will have information and representatives to answer your questions and provide detailed information on their leagues. Canterbury Village Cupcake Crawl – The shops of the village will each feature a different homemade cupcake for you to sample as you stroll the village. Be sure to vote for your favorite at the end. $2 entry at the door (includes all cupcakes). $5 Parking is required at all events in addition to the admission fee unless otherwise noted.
