Indian Springs Preschool Nature Explorers at Indian Springs Metropark – (248-625-6640, metroparks.com)

Preschool Nature Explorers is a monthly nature program for preschool-aged children (accompanied by an adult). The first Thursday of each month we will learn about a different nature topic through stories, outdoor exploration, and activities or crafts. Ages 3-6. $3 Child / Adults FREE. Pre-registration required. Advanced pre-registration required online or call 248-625-7280. A Metroparks daily or annual vehicle pass is required to enter any Metropark. Waterford Oaks Wave Pool Dog Swim

Waterford Oaks Wave Pool Dog Swim – at Waterford Oaks County Park. All dogs owners must show valid Michigan dog license and proof of current vaccinations at the time of the event. Dogs swim by weight category. Three swims: Noon-12:50p – 70lbs plus, 1p-1:50p – 31lbs-69lbs, 2p-2:50p – 30lbs and under. Pre-registration cost is $10/dog and includes admission, contest entry, a gift for owner, and one 50-minute swim session. On-site registration is $15/dog if availability allows. To register, call 248-858-0916. Phone registrations will be accepted until noon on September 4. Hosted by Oakland County Parks and Recreation.

Night of the Dragon – A Metroparks medieval festival! Enjoy live entertainment, inflatable jousting, bounce house, crafts, food & drink for purchase, strolling performers, medieval costumes and contests, skywatching meteor showers, and more!
