Indian Springs Metropark Sensory-Friendly Hike. This program is designed for people with different sensory processing abilities and their families. An accessible, relaxed paced hike on a 1/3-mile of paved Pondside Trail. Leave from the Park Office Picnic Shelter to explore using senses in nature through interactive demonstration, like searching for camouflaged objects, learning bird calls, feeling different textures, and scent investigation with scent jars. Special Needs Family Fun Day event – Enjoy lunch, win prizes, music and dancing with a DJ, crafts, bounce house fun, sports, face painting and more at this FREE wheelchair-friendly event. Hosted by the Euro-Peds Foundation, Family Fun Day is the perfect opportunity for families with kids who have conditions such as Cerebral palsy, Spina bifida, Down syndrome and other neuromuscular conditions to relax, enjoy together time while meeting a new tribe. Waterford Oaks County Park FREE Platform Tennis Open House – Waterford Oaks County Park Near Paradise Peninsula Playscape. This free clinic is a opportunity to test drive the sport of platform tennis. Extra equipment available on site for first time players or those who do not have their own paddles or paddle balls. Indian Springs Metropark Maple Sugaring: Sweet Science – 3 sessions per day – 11a/12p/1p. 248-625-6640, metroparks.com. Travel out to the woods to see the tapping of maple trees, sap collection, and visit the evaporator to learn about the boiling of maple sap. This program is entirely outdoors and runs every hour. You can expect to walk about one-mile on gravel nature trails. Social distancing and face coverings are required. Dress for the weather. $3 per child, $5 per adult, children under two free. All Ages.
