Oakland County Moms Calendar of Metro Detroit Summer Events
FREE Beginner Inline Skate Clinics – Skating is fun, easy to learn and the best low impact aerobic workout you can do. Even if you have never been on skates come on out so you can see what it’s like. The basics will be covered to get you to a point where you are comfortable skating safely!
What You’ll Learn:
-Choosing the right skate for your skill level & interest
-Skating postures/habits the right way
-Finding your comfort zone – balance, rolling forwards & striding
-Gaining Control – slowing down, stopping & turning techniques
Demo skates will be available if you do not have your own skates
*Attendees under the age of 16 yrs must be accompanied by a parent or guardian*
Troy Scarecrowtopia Trick or Treat – on Thursday, October 15 (10a-1p), Friday October 16 & October 30 (4p-7p), Saturday, October 17 & 31 (noon-3p) at Troy Historic Village (60 W Wattles, Troy, MI)
Put on your best costume and join us on select Thursdays, Fridays or Saturdays in October. Treat and craft-packs will be safely prepacked the week before and all activities will be touchless. You can view the new outdoor exhibit, Scarecrowtopia, and the annual Scarecrow Row as part of your visit. Pre-registration required. Sights and Sounds Festival at New City Center Area (Troy & 2nd Street, Royal Oak, MI). Live music and entertainment for kids & adults, interactive games, face painting, crafts, magic show, crafters booths, & food and drinks available for purchase. Kid Zone opens at 4p. Hosted by romi.gov.
