Oakland County Parks Pet Wellness Clinic – Independence Oaks – Oakland County Parks Pet Vaccinations clinics for dogs and cats
are low-cost. Pets must either be leashed or brought in a carrier to the events. No appointments are needed to get your pet vaccinated, obtain preventative care, receive microchipping and/or purchase a dog license. Vaccinations, heartworm tests, flea prevention and dewormer are available. For pet safety, bring dogs on a short leash with a snug collar and cats in a carrier. There are no residency requirements. Celebrate Birmingham Parade and Party
Celebrate Birmingham Parade and Party at Shain Park – the Downtown Birmingham Hometown Parade event
will feature children’s activities, live entertainment and food inside Shain Park immediately following the parade. This event is a celebration of the Birmingham community and schools. Participation offers an opportunity for businesses, organizations, individuals, schools and groups to promote themselves to the community. People of all ages come to town to celebrate and enjoy the family-fun festivities. The half-mile parade route travels through the charming downtown with many shops and restaurants. Heritage Park Splash Pad Opening Day
Heritage Park Splash Pad Opening Day at Splash Pad at Heritage Park (248-536-5617, www.ci.farmington-hills.mi.us). Heritage Park has a small splash pad at the north end of the park near the north shelter / picnic
area and playground. Kids are free to run through splash pad when the weather is warm enough. Entry to Heritage Park is FREE and so is the Splash Pad! REVIEW / PICS / INFO
Birmingham Memorial Day Events
Birmingham Memorial Day Events – The annual observance of Memorial Day in Shain Park includes addresses by the Mayor and State Representative, patriotic music, and an introduction of veterans. Sylvan Lake Memorial Day Parade
Sylvan Lake Memorial Day Parade – 11a (lineup) / Parade at 11:30a at Sylvan Lake City Hall and Memorial Park.
The Parade will begin at 11:30a at City Hall and end at Memorial Park with a brief ceremony. Kids are welcome to decorate their bikes and participate in the parade. Veterans that wish to participate are asked to contact Jim Smith at 248-904-9085 to be recognized at Memorial Park ceremony. Kids can begin decorating their bikes for the bike parade (with supplies provided) at City Hall at 10:30a. If you would like to volunteer at the parade / ceremony please contact sylvanlakeparade@gmail.com.

Moon Friday Night Hike. Listen for nocturnal animals, observe the night sky, and heighten your senses along the way. Cost is $5 per person. Pre-registration required.
