Time Out – A Quiet Space for Adults @ Northminster Presbyterian Church

Time Out – A Quiet Space for Adults – On Sunday nights at 7:30, Northminster Presbyterian Church is hosting a time of peaceful silence. This is not a religious service: this is a space for anyone and everyone seeking a little more quiet time in their lives.

Pastor Chris will open the Northminster Sanctuary at 7 p.m. as quiet, meditative music plays.
Quiet activities, such as reading, writing, or coloring, are welcomed and encouraged. Tools for meditative practices will also be available.

We ask that you leave your phone at home or in the car; but a phone/technology check-in will be available at the entrance of the sanctuary.

All are invited, regardless of personal background or religious tradition.

or purchase a Day Pass. New opportunity for the youngest patrons to work on gross motor and socialization skills, while burning off energy in the cold-weather months. The gym will have a variety of age appropriate toys to ride, push, or explore. Children must be accompanied and supervised by an individual aged 16 or older. All levels are welcome to join these sessions, which will focus on stretching and strengthening the body to release stress and rejuvenate. The goal of yoga is simple: breathe and enjoy the moment, then the rest will follow. In cases of inclement weather, participants will be notified of any cancellations by 4p on event date. Troy Memorial Day Ceremony

Troy Memorial Day Ceremony – at Troy City Hall. The City of Troy is holding their Memorial Day Ceremony at 10a at Veterans Memorial Plaza in front of City Hall. Join others to honor fallen men and women who served our country to ensure our freedom with memorializing speeches, music and reflection. The ceremony also includes raising of the colors by the Troy Police Department Honor Guard, and the laying of a Memorial Wreath. The public is welcome to attend. The ceremony usually lasts approximately one hour. For more information, contact the Community Affairs Department at 248-524-1147 visit troymi.gov.

Sylvan Lake Memorial Day Parade

Sylvan Lake Memorial Day Parade – 11a (lineup) / Parade at 11:30a at Sylvan Lake City Hall and Memorial Park.
The Parade will begin at 11:30a at City Hall and end at Memorial Park with a brief ceremony. Kids are welcome to decorate their bikes and participate in the parade. Veterans that wish to participate are asked to contact Jim Smith at 248-904-9085 to be recognized at Memorial Park ceremony. Kids can begin decorating their bikes for the bike parade (with supplies provided) at City Hall at 10:30a. If you would like to volunteer at the parade / ceremony please contact sylvanlakeparade@gmail.com.
