Holly Memorial Day Ceremony – A crowd of several thousand veterans, families, friends and the general public are expected to attend a Memorial Day Ceremony honoring deceased veterans interred at the Great Lakes National Cemetery. There will be patriotic music. The VFW State Honor Guard will present the colors and perform a rifle salute during the ceremony. Taps will also be played. Holly Memorial Day Parade – The Annual Holly Memorial Day Parade will begin in Downtown Holly (S Saginaw & E Maple St) and march over to Lakeside Cemetery for Memorial Day Services. Parade line-ups begin at 9:30a, parade starts at 10a. Hosted by American Legion Post 149 & VFW Post 5587.
Waterford Memorial Day Parade – Burke Lumber (Dixie Hwy and Sashabaw Rd, Waterford, MI).
The annual Memorial Day parade hosted by the Heart of the Lakes VFW post 1008. The parade runs on Dixie Hwy beginning at Sashabaw Rd traveling North to Williams Lake Rd. Holly ORV Park FREE Weekend – Michigan residents and visitors legally can ride DNR-designated routes and trails without purchasing an ORV license or trail permit. THe entrance fee for Holly Oaks ORV Park has been waived by the OCPR Parks Commission. All ORV rules and laws still apply. This includes that all vehicles entering the park must have a 10′ orange flag securely mounted and all ORV riders and drivers must also sign a waiver form before entry. Holly Movies in the Park at dusk at Crapo Park. Concessions will be available for purchase. The free summer outdoor movies begin at dusk. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and don’t forget the popcorn! Refreshments and concessions will be sold for a small fee.
