Huntington Woods Halloween Pumpkin Carving & Storytime – Bring a pumpkin and carving utensils with you to carve your pumpkin. Make sure to bring a candle and a lighter (or flameless candle) to light your pumpkins. Dress for the weather. Pre-registration required. Contact 248-541-3030 for cost info & to register. Southfield Touch-a-Truck – Sensory sensitive hour is from 1p-2p (reduced lighting and sound). Big trucks little trucks, emergency vehicles, demonstrations, drones, and more. Hosed by the City of Southfield.
Oakland County Parks will mark the Juneteenth holiday by waiving vehicle entry fees on Monday, June 19. Oakland County Parks’ Mobile Recreation Unit will also be participating in local celebration and commemoration events honoring Juneteenth throughout Oakland County with fun, free activities such as inflatables, games, climbing towers and more.
Visitors can enjoy access to general park activities, including trails, dog parks, playgrounds, picnic areas, beaches and fishing spots from 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset (unless otherwise posted).
Huntington Woods Rackham Golf Course Fireworks – Families, bring your lawn chairs, blankets and friends to enjoy the fireworks. Please note, there is restricted parking along Ludlow and Scotia and surrounding streets. For more info, visit www.hwmi.org
FREE Summer Shindig – Catalpa Oaks County Park Enjoy an evening of fun at Catalpa Oaks County Park. Activities include inflatables, a climbing wall, zip line, face painting, balloon artists and more. In addition, there will be a free concert from 7:30p-9p followed by a showing of the movie “Family Camp” at 9p. Food trucks will have hot dogs, snow cones, popcorn and more for sale from 6p-9p. Huntington Woods Fire Prevention Week Events – Hay Day / Touch a Truck / Public Safety Open House. At Burton Field (Huntington Woods, MI 48070, 248-541-3030). FREE hay rides, refreshments, crafts, games, pony rides, a petting farm. Touch a Truck event until 5:30p. Families with special needs are invited to arrive at 3:30p.
