Oakland County Moms Calendar of Metro Detroit Summer Events
RARA Trunk or Treat – at Rochester Avon Recreation Authority (RARA). Decorate your vehicle for a family friendly trunk or treat at RARA, rain or shine. Pass out candy (you supply) as trick or treaters travel around. Prizes for vehicles. Trunk or treating will be 7pm to 8pm. Cider and donuts will be provided towards the end for all attendees. Oakland County Parks Free Summer Concerts – Local musicians will be performing at a wide variety of parks throughout Oakland County through the summer and early fall. Grab a blanket and some lawn chairs and enjoy shows at some of the loveliest parks in Oakland County. Many musical styles and genres will be represented.
Huntington Woods Halloween Pumpkin Carving & Storytime – Bring a pumpkin and carving utensils with you to carve your pumpkin. Make sure to bring a candle and a lighter (or flameless candle) to light your pumpkins. Dress for the weather. Pre-registration required. Contact 248-541-3030 for cost info & to register. RARA Milk & Cookies with Santa – Come to this special event and meet Santa! Take a picture with him as well as enjoy delicious milk and cookies. Take home holiday themed coloring pages and a holiday craft. Parents will receive a number at check in so that you can enjoy milk and cookies instead of waiting in line. Families will be emailed an exact time slot to meet Santa at. This is to try to avoid large crowds and long lines. Please remember, time slots are flexible. Food Trucks & Fun at the Village of Rochester Hills – The Village of Rochester Hills will host a variety of savory and sweet food trucks and showcase performances by local talent in Festival Park. BRAVO Italian Kitchen will also be hosting a Mobile Bar for guests who would like to purchase alcoholic beverages to enjoy in Festival Park during the performances. Each week will bring something new to experience. There will also be lawn games and sidewalk chalk each week. This is a FREE event. Hosted by TheVofRH.
New Center Park Detroit FREE Summer Movies – at New Center Park in Midtown Detroit FREE outdoor movie nights hosted by newcenterpark.com. Visitors can grab a chair or bring a blanket, enjoy some free popcorn and settle in for a film in the open-air theater

Donut Be Afraid of Bugs – at 11a & 6p. Educational fun and a Donut truck will be at the VoRH ALL SUMMER. Nadia aka “The Bug Lady” will give you an up-close and educational experience with a variety of bugs. Learn about why these creatures are to be respected for their role in the ecosystem, and not to be feared. You will get the chance to learn about many different exotic insects, touch a tarantula, come face to face with a praying mantis, hold the largest species of millipede in the world, and much more! FUN new themes every week and you can purchase a treat from the donut truck for you & your child while your child learns fun new facts and trivia. These are FREE events. Hosted by TheVofRH.
