From 2020 – Fire and Ice Fest provides free family fun in Downtown Rochester. Hosted by the Oakland County Parks and the Rochester DDA. Events include fireworks, TasteFest, tube sledding, snow shoeing and cross country skiing, dog sled rides, ice skating, ice sculptures and more! Fire and Ice Festival schedule of events. Beverly Hills Winter Family Fun Day – Winter Family Fun Day is FREE! This is now a pop-up event meaning the Village of Beverly Hills will announce 2023 dates in advance “weather permitting”. Activities include – sledding, ice skating, cross country skiing, warm drinks, a snow cave, winter golf, winter softball and snacks in the pavilion by the fire.
Rochester Hills Memorial Day – a Memorial Day Ceremony at Veteran’s Memorial Pointe (1015 S Livernois Rd, Rochester Hills, MI). Annual Rochester Hills Memorial Day Ceremony hosted by the City of Rochester Hills.
Waterford Oaks Wave Pool Dog Swim – at Waterford Oaks County Park. All dogs owners must show valid Michigan dog license and proof of current vaccinations at the time of the event. Dogs swim by weight category. Three swims. Noon-12:50p – 70lbs plus, 1p-1:50p – 31lbs-69lbs, 2p-2:50p – 30lbs and under. Pre-registration cost is $10/dog and includes admission, contest entry and one 50-minute swim session. On-site registration is $15/dog if availability allows. To register, call 248-858-0916. Phone registrations will be accepted until noon on September 6. Hosted by Oakland County Parks and Recreation.

Light Up Beacon Park is family fun at Beacon Park in Detroit. Children of all ages are invited to experience “Toyland” at Beacon Park with larger-than-life light features, including a Choo-Choo Train, Giant Teddy Bear and other photo moments. These new and returning interactive lighting features, totaling more than 125,000 twinkling LED lights will illuminate Beacon Park. Opening Night 11/18 from 5p-11:30p features dancers, live entertainment, live reindeer, Santa, and more. Hosted by the Downton Detroit Partnership.
