Sensory Santa at Oakland Mall – Individuals with all spectrums of special needs and their families are invited to a private photo session where extra care is taken to support the sensory, physical and other developmental needs to make this a magical holiday experience. There is no admission charge. Photo packages will be available for purchase for the event. Pre-registration is required and can be booked online.
Farmington Hills Rockin’ the Manger – Holiday fun, family-friendly community event. Enjoy the outdoor manager scene with live animals. Kids fun inside with crafts, activities, and snacks. Concert and sing-along at 2p for all. For more info visit orchardumc.org.
Farmington Hills Safety & Crime Prevention Fair – This is a FREE event for the community that is focused on providing preventative information to parents, adults, teens and even kids. Topics being discussed include: Scams/identity theft prevention, safe sleeping practices for infants, medication vs. candy, firearms safety, medication take-back, and other important topics that would benefit the public. There will be a dedicated kids area where kids can color cut-out police cars and badges. Popcorn and light refreshments will be served, and a gift basket donated by Mission BBQ will be raffled off during the event. For more info, call 248-871-2750 or email crimeprevention@fhgov.
Students, parents, veterans, and career changers can learn about the demand in jobs that don’t require a four year degree. Meet with trade companies that offer educational opportunities to learn and get involved in a skilled field that doesn’t require a four year college degree. There will also be companies that have openings for summer student employment and educational options outside the normal four year college degree including other options for high school students in education. You can visit with any vendors you wish to speak with at the event.
