Copycat Buffalo Wild Wings Recipe

Copycat Buffalo Wild Wings Recipe – chicken wings dry rub. Ingredients, directions and how to serve pounds & pounds of wings ala B-Dubs using an oven OR air fryer.

I don’t make my own BWW sauces, I buy the real thing for those. Buffalo Wild Wings has been gracious enough to bottle their sauces for sale in their restaurants and at store chains everywhere (I get mine at Walmart) for a fair price, so I use those. The recipe is all about the wings themselves and how to serve them with your favorite sauces.

Copycat Buffalo Wild Wings Recipe – DRY RUB INGREDIENTS

  • 1 Tbsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 Tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 Tbsp onion powder
  • 1/2 Tbsp kosher salt
  • 3/4 Tbsp light brown sugar, packed
  • 3/4 tsp chili powder
  • 3/4 tsp paprika
  • 3/4 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp dried mustard powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/4 tsp dried ground thyme
  • dash cayenne pepper

WINGS

  • 2 lbs fresh/thawed chicken wings
  • 2 Tbsp avocado or vegetable oil
DIRECTIONS
Toss wings in oil. Sprinkle with seasoning and toss until coated. Amount of seasoning used is based on your preference. Line a baking sheet with foil. Place a wire baking rack on the foil. Lay the wings on the rack skin side up. Cook at 400 degrees for 45 minutes OR if your oven has an air fryer setting, cook at 373 degrees for 35 minutes on the air fryer setting.
How to Serve
If you like a variety of sauces, this is easy. Buy some medium size sauce cups and fill them all with your favorite sauces for dipping. It’s easier this way than to do the usual “roll a dozen wings in a bowl” way, especially if you love the variety of mixing up the sauces.
