Wint Nature Center Sap to Syrup

Wint Nature Center Sap to Syrup – at Wint Nature Center / Independence Oaks County Park (248-625-6473). Learn the science and history to why maple sap, syrup, and sugar are so

important to this region. Tap a log with a brace and bit and sample a sweet treat while you hear about sugaring techniques through the ages. Suitable for all ages. $5/person. Preregistration with payment is required by calling 248-858-0916 weekdays or online. Hosted by Oakland County Parks and Recreation.– A short hike to learn about the history and learn how some sugaring tools are used. Then, sample different grades of maple syrup. Some sweet maple treats and take-home maple-based recipes are also on the menu. Some tasty treats may be made in factories that process nut products. This program is suitable for all ages.
