Kalahari Resorts invited my family out for a short stay so we could check out the accommodations and fantastic indoor waterpark for a review.

The first thing I noticed was how incredibly huge this place was. It’s no wonder…Kalahari Resorts Waterpark is America’s largest indoor waterpark – larger than 3 1/2 football fields!

Kalahari waterpark has all kinds of water fun, including surf simulators, water slides, kids areas, lazy river, 12,000 sq. foot wavepool, spas, etc.

A couple of the unique rides worth mentioning in more detail are the Zip Coaster and the Tanzanian Twister. The Zip Coaster is like a roller coaster ride that is also a waterslide. It’s not like the typical water rides at the amusement parks; this one is faster. The Tanzanian Twister is similar to the Swahili Swirl bowl raft ride, but it is for individuals and it doesn’t use a raft. Basically, at the tail end of the slide, you circle the bottom and then drop out a large hole four feet into a 6-ft deep pool. You can see a snippet of this in the video.

The Kalahari Resorts are African Safari themed, and very clean. There are many different styled rooms to choose from – starting from one bedroom guest rooms, two bedroom suites, 3 bedroom suites… all the way up to a 10 bedroom Entertainment Villa Duplex complete with a recreation room, fully equipped kitchen, six person jetted tub, and accommodations for up to 36 people!

Overall, you can’t miss with Kalahari. There’s so much to do and it’s great family fun. It easily takes a full day or more to see and do everything.
