The Nature Center at Kensington Metropark offers interactive exhibits, live animals, a scenic marsh Kingfisher Lagoon overlook sitting area, miles of well-groomed nature trails, and more. Friendly Metropark Park Interpreters are always on-site and always available to answer questions. Visitors will see and get to learn about turtles, snakes, fish, even a large Red-Tailed Hawk named Ranger.

The Kensington Metropark Nature Center hosts a variety of educational programs for kids and scouts which are also ideal for parents who homeschool. The Nature Center even has a large meeting room (complete with a kitchen) that you can rent for birthday parties etc…
Special Nature Center events take place throughout the calendar year. In addition to hosting camps, parties, and school programs… the Kensington Metropark Nature Center holds a Native Plant sale in May, Fall Color Walks, Halloween fun with Trick or Treat on the Trail & Zombie Apocalypse Survival, and you can even meet Santa Claus each December at S’mores with Santa events.
A Metroparks vehicle entry permit is required for access to the Nature Center. Vehicle permits are on sale NOW. You can pick one up at metroparks.com OR visit your local Metropark today.
