Red Mesa Boyne City Mexican Restaurant review, hours, and menu info – Red Mesa Mexican Restaurant has two up north Michigan locations – one in Boyne City and one in Traverse City. I visited the Boyne City location recently because we’re always looking for good Mexican food when up north.
Red Mesa is probably the best Mexican restaurant you will find in up north Michigan. In all honesty, many areas of up north Michigan (maybe except for Traverse City, the foodie town) seems lacking in quality authentic ethnic foods (Mexican food, Thai food, Chinese restaurants, etc). However, they sure do serve up plenty of great burgers, fish fries, steaks, diner food, etc.
So, if you’re looking for good Mexican with good service near Boyne, maybe while you’re vacationing at AV Bay or skiing at Boyne Mountain, Red Mesa is your best bet. Everything on the menu is quality, tastes good, and is decent portions. I went with a group of eight friends, and everyone liked what they ordered. The Red Mesa menu has everything…nachos, burritos, taquitos, fajitas, tacos, and more. They also offer specialties such as jack stuffed shrimp, chicken chorizo stuffed poblano, ancho pork ribeye and more. The Red Mesa menu meets the needs of many by also offering Vegetarian, Vegan and gluten free celiac safe options.
Red Mesa Boyne City Mexican Restaurant claims to feature the largest and finest selection of tequila in Northern Michigan. Their Margaritas are made from scratch in several different varieties with their own freshly squeezed sour mix – I can attest to their quality! They also offer an assortment of mojitos and other specialty beverages. Local micro brews are featured on tap; wines are available by the glass or bottle.
