My previous clock/radio alarm clock was a basic SONY with no bells and whistles…somehow it kept the time after a power outage, and it had a malfunctioning Daylight Saving Time reset feature that you could not turn off, and had resulted in many late drop-offs to school.
Acurite Intelli-Time Projection Clock Review
I was happy to upgrade to the Acurite Intelli-Time Projection Clock with Outdoor Temperature and USB Charger. Our new alarm clock now has many useful features that I’ve grown used to quickly and now don’t want to do without. The Intelli-Time Projection Clock with Outdoor Temperature and USB Charger has a projection feature that allows you to wake up to the time or temperature projected in large digits on your wall or ceiling… this is convenient because I tend to wake up several times each night, but don’t necessarily want to roll over in bed to check the clock on the nightstand. However, I’m thinking of switching to the temp feature as we approach the colder months. The Acurite Intelli-Time Projection Clock has an illuminated color display (much more colorful than my previous back-lit black numbers) with indoor and outdoor temperatures, Intelli-Time clock and calendar, moon phase and alarm clock settings. There is also a USB charger hook-up in the back for compatible smartphones. The clock and calendar are radio-controlled to maintain the correct time and date with split-second precision, so the time was already set and working when I plugged it in from out of the box! The Intelli-Time clock automatically updates itself for Daylight Saving Time…hopefully accurately as we’ll find out soon enough! The programmable alarm clock can be set for everyday use or weekdays only, so as long as it’s on, it’ll be going off Monday – Friday.
I love the simple technology for the temperature detection that the Acurite Intelli-Time Projection Clock uses. We had purchased a previous unit that needed to be drilled into a brick wall outside, in the perfect spot. Obviously, we could not find the perfect location because we couldn’t get a decent outdoor temp reading if our lives depended on it. With the Intelli-Time Projection Clock with Outdoor Temperature and USB Charger, the wireless sensor includes a thermometer to take the outdoor temperature reading, and features weather-resistant construction and a “loop” hanger for easy mounting. Basically, we took some twine and tied it through the hanger to create a loop so we could easily hang it on a tree branch in the yard that is 4-8 feet from the ground. That’s it. The readings are accurate. Love it!
