Barnes and Noble Village of Rochester Hills review, pics, and info. Barnes and Noble modern, prototype store features a smaller, more flexible design that is in contrast to the cavernous locations that were built in Metro Detroit years ago. The store is located at Fountain Park at the location of the recent closed B-Spot Burgers location. The Village of Rochester Hills is testing this new B&N store prototype, the first in Michigan and 10th in the United States.
The NEW Barnes and Noble is set to open to the public on Wednesday, March 27, 2019.

These new prototype Barnes and Noble book stores are a bit different than the monster square-footage locations. Though still very large, these locations are smaller than the Barnes and Noble locations in Metro Detroit you might be used to. The new locations feature lower profile bookshelves so you can see the whole store and lit bookcase shelfs that make building appear airy and wide-open. The lighting, flooring, and paint are all more contemporary and brighter. The Village of Rochester Hills is often voted the Best Place to People Watch in Metro Detroit and this Barnes and Noble location will only add to that distinction with outdoor patio seating! This location has cafe that features Starbucks products.
Technology has improved B&N brick and mortar store locations too. Associates at this location will have tablets while on the floor and can place orders for you and even check you out and accept payment. A newer concept that is at some of the other stores already.
Not everything is different with the new Barnes and Nobles prototype locations. You’ll still be able to buy music at B&N at this VoRH store thanks to a large vinyl records and turntables (no CDs though). The family fun events that other locations host won’t be going away either. Like other locations, Saturday Storytimes at 11a will be an event fixture and there will be book signing events featuring local authors.
Kids will enjoy the new Barnes and Noble at the Village too. There’s a jungle gym area and LEGO table. The Village is the perfect fit for this location as having Barnes and Noble extends ways to incorporate B&N into their own events… The Mom & Me events that take place in the summer can now feature storytimes at B&N!
