Black Friday Family Activities in Southeast MI – Goldfish Swim Schools of Metro Detroit has some great ideas for post Thanksgiving family time fun!
Thanksgiving brings mixed feelings for moms. In our minds lives the hope of a Norman Rockwell holiday. This picturesque scene includes family reunited, warm hugs, food from recipes that have been passed down for generations, and an overall sense of gratitude, comfort, and love for all mankind. Our good intentions to create the “perfect” holiday scene are quickly gobbled up by chaotic schedules, poor eating habits, materialism and buyers remorse.
This year, instead of abandoning your family for hours of shopping while getting elbowed in the face, skip the consumerism sensation and engage in a family activity – perhaps even a new family tradition.

Experience exciting outdoor adventures with hands-on activities, exhibits and simulators — walk behind and touch a waterfall, step into a fishing boat and reel in a big fish, hit the trail on a mountain bike or snowmobile, and much more. At the OAC, you’ll learn about how the DNR manages state parks, forests, wildlife and fish as you climb the roots and explore the canopy of a massive bur oak tree, hop aboard a real airplane, and see what’s swimming in the aquarium. Step inside a yurt, have a seat by the campfire, and meet Michigan’s majestic elk! Learn more at this Michigan DNR webpage.
Closing thought… “In the end, kids won’t remember the fancy toy or game you bought them. They will remember the time you spent with them.” – Kevin Heath
