Burning Oak Smokehouse Oxford CLOSED

Burning Oak Smokehouse Oxford CLOSED – Burning Oak Smokehouse has closed. The restaurant used to Be Chardonnay but switched at a BBQ / Country Western restaurant. That theme did not make it either.

Burning Oak Smokehouse Oxford Review – Pics, hours, and menu info. The Burning Oak Smokehouse is located on Lapeer Rd. in Oxford MI in the former Chardonnay restaurant location. The Burning Oak Smokehouse is under the same ownership as Chardonnay, with the son taking over the business.

The Burning Oak Smokehouse is a traditional BBQ restaurant offering the 1 or 2 meats with 2 sides options. The Burning Oak Smokehouse has its own smokehouse setup in the back outside and the aroma of smoked BBQ fills the outside air.

The Burning Oak Smokehouse offers five house BBQ sauces – Original, Tangy, Sweet, Bad Boy Spicy, and Wild Man Hot. The Bad Boy Spicy and Wild Man Hot sauces were great and more unique in flavor than the traditional Original.

Dinner started with a basket of whole wheat dinner rolls with buttery crusts. The main dish had options for two sides selected from many choices including mashed potatoes, mashed sweet potatoes, collard greens, french fries, smoked mac n cheese, smoked baked beans, corn bread, coleslaw, baked potato, vegetables, onion petals, salad or soup.

The meats on the menu at The Burning Oak Smokehouse include smoked beef brisket, smoked pulled pork, smoked ribs, smoked pulled chicken, and smoked turkey. The Burning Oak Smokehouse also offers seafood – salmon, shrimp, talapia…, salads, entrees, appetizers – smoked quesadilla, smokehouse sliders, onion petals, potato skins, artichoke dip…, burgers, sandwiches, wraps, desserts, a HUGE beer selection, and daily specials.

My husband ordered the ribs and brisket which had a great smoke flavor, and I had the Salmon that was grilled and then seared with lemon – a great, fresh taste and grilled perfectly.

The Burning Oak Smokehouse has upstairs and downstairs rooms for rent for parties. Each has a full bar and works nicely for private parties.

We asked the management about what kinds of plans he has for the place. He said his “five year plan” is to be a country bar. It’s already on its way with country music playing in the restaurant and a menu to match it. It suits the place nicely.
