Oakland County Moms Calendar of Metro Detroit Summer Events
BubBalloonaChicks Bubble Show Magic – Bubble and balloon artistry. BubBalloonaChicks will transport you into the magical world of mega bubbles, billions of bubbles, amoeba shaped bubbles and other bubble tricks. Oakland County Parks will mark the Juneteenth holiday by waiving vehicle entry fees on Monday, June 19. Oakland County Parks’ Mobile Recreation Unit will also be participating in local celebration and commemoration events honoring Juneteenth throughout Oakland County with fun, free activities such as inflatables, games, climbing towers and more.
Visitors can enjoy access to general park activities, including trails, dog parks, playgrounds, picnic areas, beaches and fishing spots from 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset (unless otherwise posted).
Kensington Metropark Movie Nights – Pack up the family and head out to your Metropark to enjoy a movie under the stars. Bring a blanket and lawn chairs and some popcorn and your favorite snacks and spend a night in the park then settle in to enjoy the show. Arrive early to pick your viewing spot and then before the movie starts enjoy the park. The movie will be shown on an LED screen and start before dark. All ages event. Blake’s Lyon Township Fall Kick-off Celebration – Free Funland admission from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm (jumping pillows, John Deere Speedway, Amish play structures, Mr. Bones Outhouse, Hillbilly Wagon, and animal petting farm. Live music, food trucks, cider garden. $1 from every dozen donuts and u-pick apple bags will be donated to South Lyon based charity Active Faith
Franklinstein Frenzy – Main Street. Halloween Parade from noon-12:20p. Downtown trick or treating after the parade, pet costume contest, donuts and cider, arts and crafts, games and activities following. Fun for kids & adults too. For more info, visit mainstreetfranklinmi.com.
Blakes Kids and Canines Trunk or Treat – Bring the kids and dogs for an afternoon of FREE Halloween fun, complete with costume contests for both children and their four-legged friends. In addition to candy, there will also be homemade dog treats.

Troy Stage Nature Center Trick or Treat Among The Trees – A fun and friendly outdoor celebration for kids ages 3-9. Costumed kids are welcome to hike the woodland pumpkin trail with a SNC guide. Children will learn the secrets of the forest and receive treats and meet costumed characters. Dress for weather. Fee is $14.50. FREE for parents/guardians. Santa Visits at Stage Nature Center
Santa Visits at Stage Nature Center is Hosted by the Troy Nature Society. Visit times vary. The visits will take place outside, weather permitting. Bring your letter with a return address for Santa to take with him to the North Pole. Santa will send a letter back to you. At the visit, each child will receive the materials and directions for a special craft to make at home and a special gift bag from Santa. Ages 3-8. $12. Kensington Metropark Snacks with Santa
Kensington Metropark Snacks with Santa – (810-227-8910, metroparks.com). A holiday season tradition at the Farm. Each visit includes a horse-drawn hayride or sleigh ride (weather dependent on which is available), a holiday sing-a-long, (complete with cozy blankets, song sheets, and jingle bells), snacks, (fruit, cookies, juice, hot cocoa, and coffee), and most importantly, a visit with Santa by the Christmas Tree. All ages. $12 per person. Pre-registration is required online or by calling 810-227-8910. A Metroparks daily or annual vehicle pass is required to enter any Metropark.
