Parents, grandparents, nannies and caregivers: Bring your little ones to Wint Nature Center for a caregiver-guided hour of activities, fun and friendship with local families on Thursdays. Participate in a caregiver-led activity provided by nature center staff. Enjoy coffee, tea and conversation with other caregivers. Strengthen community connections –conversation for adults; social interaction for babies, toddlers and young children. Optional activities may take place outside, dress for the weather. This program is free and no preregistration is necessary, although park entry fee applies for those without a vehicle permit. Caregivers must supervise children at all times. Siblings are welcome. Oakland County Parks Events – Red Oaks Waterpark Riverwalk
Red Oaks Waterpark (1455 East 13 Mile Road, Madison Heights, MI 48071)
Walk with or against the flow of the 1,000-foot River Ride after the park closes for a unique workout. This adults-only program is for all abilities and fitness levels. All participants must walk; no floating will be allowed. Four punch cards are available, each valid for a specific day of the week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Each punch card is good for eight visits on that day only. If participants wish to walk two or more days a week, they must purchase multiple punch cards. Punch cards are $50 each and available for purchase through June 28, 2024 or until capacity is sold out. To purchase, register online, call 248-858-0916 weekdays during business hours. Enjoy a day on the playground and other fun activities during the free Come Out and Play event. During this special day, day camps and members of the public can enjoy free access to the zip line, water and non-water inflatables and the climbing tower. Children must be at least 45 pounds and 42 inches tall and wear closed-toe shoes for the zip line. A waiver form is also required. Shoes are required for the climbing tower and socks are required for the non-water inflatables. For the water inflatables, guests may want to bring a swimsuit or change of clothes.
