Sylvan Lake Memorial Day Parade – 11a (lineup) / Parade at 11:30a at Sylvan Lake City Hall and Memorial Park.
The Parade will begin at 11:30a at City Hall and end at Memorial Park with a brief ceremony. Kids are welcome to decorate their bikes and participate in the parade. Veterans that wish to participate are asked to contact Jim Smith at 248-904-9085 to be recognized at Memorial Park ceremony.
Kensington Metropark Hayride Adventure – (810-227-8910, metroparks.com). Take part behind the scenes as the draft horses are harnessed and hitched to the wagon. Learn what the different elements of their harness do and how they work together. When the horses are dressed and ready, you’ll be all set for a relaxing hayride along the farm’s wooded trails. Hockey Mentors for Special Olympians – Hockey Mentors offers an afternoon of free hockey and ice skating for individuals with any type of special needs, whether that is cognitive, physical or emotional, their family and caregivers. The family friendly event, taking place in two of the Troy Sports Center rinks, includes skate rental, hockey equipment, lunch, t-shirt for those skating and a jersey for guests trying out hockey.
