Macomb Try Hockey for FREE – “Try Hockey for Free” Clinics are a great way for boys and girls ages 12 and under to try out the sport of hockey without having to make the investment into equipment. There’s no experience necessary – Suburban Ice provide the instructors and the equipment for you to use. Bowers Farm Winter Park
Bowers Farms Winter Park – Wednesdays, 5p-9p, Thursdays 5p-9p, Fridays 4p-10p, Saturdays noon-10p, Sundays noon-9p
Skating – Weather permitting and bring your own skates. Admission is $5. Skating is FREE, skate rental is $8. Winter Park has much to offer including tubing and $17 glow tubing (appointments required), ice skating (weather permitting, bring your own skates), hot cocoa, bonfires, food at the Farmers Kitchen and more. Tubing (unfortunately) isn’t FREE (it’s actually quite expensive) and you have to pre-register which takes the starch out of a spur-of-the-moment experience.
Southfield Winter Fest
Southfield Winter Fest – at Southfield Pavilion. Fun includes games, FREE ice skating, carriage rides, marshmallow roasting, ropes course, climbing wall, and more. Ferndale Easter Egg-Stravaganza
Ferndale Easter Egg-Stravaganza – Each hunt is FREE and will feature three parks, with areas for younger children. The schedule is as follows – 1p – Wilson Park (For Ages 1-4 Only); 1:30p – Geary Park; 2p – Martin Road Park.
At each site, children will have the opportunity to gather as many prize-filled eggs as they can. One egg in each section contains a special golden ticket that will grant its finder with a special Easter basket. Geary Park and Martin Road Park will each have an area dedicated to younger children (ages 1-4) and older children (ages 5-11). At Martin Road Park, children and parents will have the opportunity to meet and take pictures with the Easter Bunny. This is a FREE event, no pre-registration is required, but please consider donating to support Ferndale P&R programming. Hosted by Ferndale Parks & Recreation. second Saturday in May is National Miniature Golf Day, and this year it falls on the same weekend as Mother’s Day. In honor of both holidays, Cranbrook is offering free admission to one special adult in your life on Saturday, May 11 and on Sunday May 12. To receive the complimentary ticket, please purchase all tickets for your group on-site. The last tickets will be sold 45 minutes before closing.
