Dearborn Historical Museum Homeschool Day @ Dearborn Historical Museum
Mar 28 @ 9:30 am – 11:30 am

Dearborn Historical Museum Homeschool Day – The Dearborn Historical Museum is opening up its classic Pioneer School Program to the public for one day only. Families with children ages 5-10 are invited to enjoy this field trip experience during Spring Break. The students will learn to churn butter by hand, plant seeds of the “three sisters”, explore an 1830s house, and practice arithmetic on a slate chalk board with a McGuffey reader. Students get buttered crackers, potted seeds, and a small souvenir to take home.

The Pioneer School Program meets state history standards for second grade, but we’re prepared to accommodate older and younger siblings for this event. The event is open to all children ages 5-10, including home schooled and non-Dearborn Public Schools students.

Want to make it a full day? Bring a pack lunch to eat at our location then explore the Rouge River Gateway Trail, Ford Field Park, or Fairlane Estate which are all within walking distance. Or head over to The Henry Ford Museum and Imax for the afternoon.

Admission is $5 per child. Event is for children ages 5-10.
