Get outside, explore and have fun with this monthly program for children 7-12 years old at the Kensington Metropark Nature Center.Learn about birds, starting fires, stalking animals or catching insects, each month will focus on connecting with the world around us, deepening naturalist knowledge and learning new outdoor skills. Wint Nature Center Puddle Jumper Series – at Wint Nature Center at Independence Oaks County Park 248-625-6473. Children ages 3-6 can enjoy nature fun as they increase their love for the great outdoors. A naturalist will engage children with a story, nature talk and related activity. Each child will receive a craft kit to take and make at home. This series meets the second Friday of each month. Cost: $4/child. Call 248-858-0916 weekdays to register. Blessings in a Backpack helps meet the nutritional needs of children and families. Each week, volunteers quietly distribute backpacks filled with enough non-perishable food for the weekend to students in need.
