Cedar Grille Troy

Cedar Grille Troy Review – Pics, menu info, and hours. Cedar Grille is a Mediterranean restaurant on Crooks Rd at Long Lake in Troy, Michigan.I enjoy the freshness of Middle Eastern food and am on a health kick with my diet lately so there are always some options that I can eat at a Mediterranean restaurant.

The interior at Cedar Grille is small, cozy, and very clean. There are only about 16 tables but seating doesn’t seem to be an issue. There are a lot of carry out orders as well.

Cedar Grille Troy

Cedar Grille serves the traditional Mediterranean/Lebanese/Middle Eastern fare… i.e. Schwarma, Hummus, Salads, Kibbee, Kabobs, chicken, lamb, shrimp, Falafel, Tabouli, Fattoush, smoothies, fresh squeezed juices, and more. Cedar Grille also has the infamous garlic dip with pita bread as a nice meal starter. It’s not complimentary as I have seen at other Middle Eastern restaurants, but it’s definitely worth getting. The garlic paste at Cedar Grille is a bit on the spicy side. The waitress said they added only a small amount of jalapeno and that garlic alone is spicy. I think because this dip is straight garlic with some oil and lemon, it is super strong and a bit spicy. Word of caution, this dip can potentially lead to some wicked burps that can clear a room. Our waitress said some coffee would help prevent the strong odor. We tried that route… it seemed to help but not completely prevent.

TROY MI RESTAURANT WEEK INFO

For dinner, I went a little off the board and tried a seafood specialty – Shrimp Liban which is shrimp sauteed with mushrooms, fresh garlic, cilantro and lemon. It was good – very strong with the lemon, but good. My daughter ordered off the kid’s menu and had chicken tenders and fries. It was a very large portion and seemed pretty tasty. My son ordered chicken Schwarma, unfortunately it was so dry he couldn’t eat it. When we informed our waitress, she took some convincing before she finally took it off the bill, but she still charged us for a cup of soup that came with his meal that he ate half of.

Cedar Grille Troy has an awesome Fattoush dressing that they bottle up and sell for $6. It’s the same dressing they use on their house salad. I loved the dressing, and I loved how it had no additives or preservatives. I eat salad daily and am always looking for a healthy change-up… now I found one.

Cedar Grille also offers catering. You can order party size portions of hummus, rice, Bab Ghanouj, salads, kabobs, schwarma and more.
