Challenge Island STEAM Camps are for rising K-5th kids who are interested in problem-solving and FUN this summer with exciting weekly themes beginning in mid-June.
Challenge Island STEAM Camps 2026
Each daily workshop will include 3 hours of hands-on activities taught live by Michigan-based STEAM professionals. Programs are Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics-based challenges which also grow skills in cross-curricular learning, teamwork, presenting, and interacting with others.
Challenge Island is a STEAM enrichment program where smart and curious kids work together in teams to solve fun, hands-on “challenges” which teach them about STEAM fundamentals, as well as important success skills like creativity, critical thinking, problem solving and much more. The 3-hour/5-day camp programs this year will give campers a chance to grow their STEAM and teamwork skills as they take on fun challenges from the worlds of & the United States, dinosaurs, video/arcade games and world travel.
Challenge Island STEAM Camps in Metro Detroit are coming this summer to – Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, Brandon, Clarkston, Clawson, Fenton, Huntington Woods, Rochester, St Clair Shores, and Troy.

Jurassic Island STEAM Camp / Grades K-5
In this all-new camp, campers will go back in time to learn about and build fun challenges related to all things dinosaurs

Arcade Mania STEAM Camp / Grades K-5
Campers will go screen-free as they bring popular family video games to life by building gliders, ziplines, pyramid slingshots, sports stadiums, and much more.

Campers will travel the world and build engineering challenges (gondolas, roller coasters, elephant prosthetics, aqueducts, propellor boats and more) inspired by famous global destinations

Slimetopia 5 STEAM Camp: Diners, Drive-Throughs and Dives / Grades K-5
Campers will travel the USA to create 2 slimes a day and tackle engineering challenges inspired by regional specialties like clam chowder, Tex Mex, King Cake, and more.
