Crio Bru Brewed Cacao Review

Crio Bru Brewed Cacao review, and info – a delicious coffee substitute? 100% pure cacao beans that are ground up and then brewed like you would do with coffee.

I have battled with my coffee cravings. I’ve always enjoyed coffee, but unlike many, I can’t drink it. It does not agree with me and has me reeling with a strange lightheadedness, feeling weak, and pretty much out for the count.

OAKLAND COUNTY MOMS PRODUCT REVIEWS

After some time passes and I forget how I felt, I give it another try and unfortunately suffer with the same results.

The Crio Bru Brewed Cacao ad claims that it is packed with antioxidants that boost your immune system and magnesium to support bone, brain, and heart health. Additionally, it is low in calories AND acts as a natural appetite suppressant. Finally, Crio Bru Brewed Cacao claims that it is loaded with natural mood enhancers that can help you feel great, increase focus, reduce stress and sleep better. Win, win, and win.

If you’re worried that you can’t do without the caffeine boost from coffee, caffeine free Crio Bru Brewed Cacao contains theobromine, a naturally occurring stimulant found in cacao that can be longer lasting, milder, and more pleasant than caffeine.

I bought a couple packs to try them out. Maybe Crio Bru Brewed Cacao could be my replacement for the coffee that doesn’t seem to be a good go-to for me? I went with the Mocha and Double Chocolate flavors. It’s not the cheapest, but if it works, it might be worth the investment. Plus, shipping was reasonable and not overpriced per usual.

To prepare Crio Bru Brewed Cacao, you can use a French press, coffee machine (no paper filters), pour over, percolator, stove-top espresso, aero press etc. Espresso machines and Keurigs are the only equipment Crio Bru doesn’t recommend.

I used my coffee machine (without the paper filter). When I opened up the bag, I looked inside to see what it looked like…a little less fine than ground coffee. I also took a whiff and it smelled GREAT…like pure chocolate.

I tried the Mocha flavor first, hoping it would have some coffee flavor that would have me fooled into thinking I’m drinking a coffee substitute. Honestly, that didn’t work. I wasn’t a huge fan of the flavor but I think I need to get used to it.

I tried the Double Chocolate flavor next. This flavor was slightly better. But overall, Crio Bru Brewed Cacao was not blowing me away. Maybe it’s because I can’t use creamer. Many suggested using a flavored creamer and/or some sugar. Plus, I wasn’t really getting any kind of energy from it like I’d hoped.

I’m not giving up on the Crio Bru Brewed Cacao just yet. As a matter of fact, I found the best way to consume this beverage…as a boozy drink. I brewed the Double Chocolate flavor and added in some Amaretto, Kahlua, and Frangelico (as per my boozy coffee recipe)…and wow! This was soooooo good.

But, it’s safe to say that I can’t be starting my day every day with a boozy drink. So, I am going to keep trying the Crio Bru Brewed Cacao straight up. I’m thinking I can get used to it and may end up feeling like I don’t want coffee anymore. And, then as a treat once in a while, I’m making the boozy version ;).

Long story short – IMHO… Crio Bru doesn’t replace coffee in terms of taste, the theobromine boost isn’t an equal substitute for caffeine, but this stuff makes a delicious ingredient in cocktails and stiff drinks that contain coffee (or chocolate).
