Depot Park Clarkston Review & Pics
Depot Park is divided by a stream and a paved walking path / bike path surrounds the peaceful confines. Picnic areas and park benches dot either side of the stream and the grounds are well-maintained. Beloved by the citizens of Clarkston, many of the parks’ benches, picnic tables, planted trees and other facets are sponsored members of the community. There is convenient parking around the north side of the park. Depot Park has a small playground within the park surrounded by picnic tables and benches but it is nothing to write home about and could probably use an update.
BEST PLAYGROUNDS IN OAKLAND COUNTY
The centerpiece of Depot Park is their huge, beautiful gazebo that hosts many of Clarkston’s seasonal community events. The park hosts FREE summer concerts and FREE outdoor movie nights (see listings below). The gazebo is available to rent for weddings, private parties, or picnics. Depot Park is Downtown Clarkston’s centerpiece and the city does a great job in maintaining the park’s beauty while using the park as a hub for it’s various events and social activities.
Whether it’s a brief respite lunch break if you work in Downtown Clarkston… or a scenic place to exercise, take the kids, or just enjoy nature, Depot Park is a a beautiful Downtown park.
Like Clarkston, other Oakland County cities, towns, and villages have downtown parks.. but few are as nice as well-planned like Depot Park.
