Dr. Schenden Botox Review – Troy MI

Dr. Schenden Botox Review – Troy MIĀ – If you’re thinking about Botox, here’s what you can expect. I went to Dr. Schenden’s Medical Day Spa in Troy MI for my first-ever Botox treatment.

Although I’ve been told I look young for my age, I see nothing wrong with fighting aging and keeping a youthful look for as long as possible. And if there is something that you don’t like about your appearance and there’s an easy fix, why not?

So, I tried Botox for the first time. I did it mostly because I know I hold a lot of tension between my eyebrows and I noticed some wrinkles beginning in that area.

I might be one of the few that is late in the game to try Botox, but if you haven’t done it and you’re curious about what to expect, then here’s a quick Botox rundown…

My Dr. Schenden Botox appointment began with the nurse looking at my face to help me decide which area to hit – between the brows, forehead, or crows feet. She agreed that I should do between the brows. The nice part about Botox is that it is also a preventative procedure. By having this done, I will decrease my wrinkle-inducing tension there and that’s definitely my problem spot.

The Dr. Schenden Botox procedure begins with the typical sterilization. Then the nurse takes the syringe and makes the injections. In my case there were six. The injections (I was told) feel like bee stings. This was news to me since I had never heard that the procedure has any pain involved. I’ve never been stung so I can’t attest to this but I can say the Botox injections were done in a quick 30 seconds, and they did sting just a bit, but it was easily tolerable.

You’ll also hear a bit of quiet crunching noises as the needle goes into the muscles. After it’s over, there will be slight bumps where the Botox injections were made. The nurse gave me a bag of frozen peas and the bumps went down in minutes. The entire Botox procedure took about a half hour and was quite simple.

After the Botox was done, I was told to take it easy for the day, i.e. no sweaty exercise, and no moves where I’d be bent over with my head pointing down – this includes no massages with your head smashed down into a pillow. Finally, they ask that you don’t press on the area that received the Botox. You need to let it disperse in its own.

Other than that, it was business as usual and you can do your normal daily activities. The results took a few days (3-5) to truly appear and I’m very happy with what I see. it doesn’t feel much different. I actually like how it feels – just a slight relaxed “paralysis” if I try to scrunch that part of my face.

altIf you’re considering Botox, I highly recommend Dr. Schenden’s Medical Day Spa in Troy for the procedure. The staff is educated, courteous and professional.

I was told the Botox effects wear off in 3-5 months. I’m thinking I will be doing this again. Totally worth it for how it looks now, and for how it will prevent more wrinkles later.
