DROID Incredible Review and Video Demo

DROID Incredible Review – review and video demo of the DROID incredible smartphone. As time goes on and I review more phones, I am continuously impressed with what these phones can do. My most recent review is of the DROID Incredible. The DROID Incredible Verizon Wireless phone features a touch screen, 8.0 megapixel camera, a wide selection of interactive widgets, and Friend Stream for streamlined updates from popular social networking sites.

DROID INCREDIBLE REVIEW – VIDEO DEMONSTRATION

DROID Incredible by HTC is the first Verizon Wireless phone that takes advantage of Qualcomm’s 1GHz superfast Snapdragon processor. I aboslutely LOVED the speed of The DROID Incredible. No matter what I was doing, The DROID Incredible is by far the smoothest and quickest phone I have ever tried. I’m a patient person, but this phone has got me spoiled!

I am also impressed by the number of apps that are available in the market – over 38,000 and still counting! And, there is plenty of space to put your favorites since the phone has 7 customizable home screens. The 8.0 megapixel camera does not disappoint. I just about fell out of my chair with the quality of the pictures! To prove a point, I sent someone a photo that I took using the phone and he wrote back, commenting on the clarity of the picture. I enjoy the video option on the The DROID Incredible as well. It’s clear and good quality. A lot more than what I would expect from a phone.

Email use is easy. You can set up multiple accounts and you can have one of your home screens display the most recent email. I like the voice activiation feature on the The DROID Incredible. I sent my husband some emails using the mic since I didn’t feel like typing:). But, be sure to check what comes up – it does not always pick up exactly what you say. Same goes for the voice dialer.

That brings us to the typing. I typically prefer to have a qwerty keyboard. The touch screen is ok, and I could see me getting used to it after a while, but The DROID Incredible is kind of narrow so it is a bit difficult to hold tight and secure one hand on each side and type away when the phone is vertical. That said, once I held it horizontally, it worked fine. I got a better grip on the phone and each key was more “square” vs. “tall rectangle,” which helped to keep me from hitting the wrong keys.

The battery use in the The DROID Incredible is average and needs recharging every day. I would highly recommend changing the battery to a lower/save setting, and to use a Task Killing app.

I am a huge Twitter fan and I love how it is set up on this phone. It’s very easy to do a new tweet. But even more convenient… you can view your “@’s”, direct messages, and favorites with the simple touch of a button. You can further click on a twitter name, view that person’s account (bio, location, # of followers, etc.) and then choose to follow if you want as well. I also enjoyed using twitpic with The DROID Incredible review… another one of my faves.

Of course, Facebook was another social networking tool that is easy and convenient with The DROID Incredible. If I had The DROID Incredible longer, I would have loved to try out the Friend Stream. It’s an app that consolidates all the feeds – Twitter, Facebook, Flickr – into one continuous stream of updates.

And if you’re out on the road and looking for something to do, I find the Google “local” feature on The DROID Incredible to be very helpful per usual. I just went to the Internet icon, and then clicked on the local tab when the Google screen popped up. I was provided with several categories that I skimmed through to find restaurants, parks, movies, etc. Many have reader reviews as well so I could do a little research before choosing!
