Family Fun Exhibits to Visit at local museums this winter in SE Michigan. Cabin Fever cures! There are a lot of family-friendly and kid-friendly fun exhibits happening across Metro Detroit.

This exhibit takes museum-goers deep into the world of the T Rex. You’ll see giant skeleton casts, life-size displays, real fossils, and state-of-the-art interactive stations, and full-sized T Rex cast skeleton. People of all ages will have the opportunity to learn about the evolution of the Tyrannosaurs Rex throughout the exhibit through hands-on displays, and an augmented reality experience, and numerous other interactives and multimedia experiences.

Shear Genius! builds on problem-solving themes found throughout both shows. Components and activities throughout the exhibit encourage children to playfully solve and talk about problems in fun, engaging ways. Exhibit components and activities encourage children to playfully solve STEM-based and social-emotional problems in fun and engaging ways — from completing a circuit and deciphering expressions to fixing a machine and using the power of collaboration to help a farmyard friend.

Uncover how Archimedes’ discoveries in mathematics, physics, and engineering during the classical antiquity period have shaped our modern world and gain a deeper understanding of the science behind natural phenomena. Bring Archimedes’ science to life with many family-friendly experiments and the opportunity to experience some of his most significant findings and contributions.

COST / TICKETS INFO – $8 for adults who are non-members and $6 for all Institute of Science Standard Members. Children 2-12 and individuals 65+ are $5 each. Enhanced members and children under 2 are free. Non-members must also pay general museum admission. (museum hrs & admission info)

Cranbrook Winter

I enjoy that fact that our museums in SE Michigan are catering more and more to kid-friendly and family-friendly activities. Sloan Museum in Flint hosts 2-3 travelling family fun exhibits per year that children find delightfully entertaining (and sometimes a bit educational too).
