The Detroit Red Wings at 100 exhibit at the Detroit Historical Museum combs through a century of Detroit Red Wings hockey – from the Detroit Falcons, the Detroit Falcons, the Production Line, The Russian 5… Olympia, JLA, LCA… and more. The hands-on exhibit invites visitors to learn about the unique adaptations of polar dinosaurs who lived in cold, dark and snowy conditions year-round. The exhibition presents a unique look at paleontology, climate science, and the survival of ancient species in one of the harshest environments on Earth.

In this immersive exhibit, visitors are transported to Palenque, Mexico, where an archaeological team has mysteriously disappeared from a dig site while investigating rumors of a priceless jade medallion. They will follow the clues the team left behind to locate the precious medallion while avoiding the dangers lurking in the ruins.
Visitors with translate glyphs, discover which rainforest animals are poisonous, learn the Mayan calendar, interpret a battle mural, and more.

Each invention in this 7,500-square-foot exhibition was handcrafted by skilled artisans following da Vinci’s original two-dimensional drawings and modern translations of his Codices — comprehensive collections containing nearly all of his sketches, notes and ideas. Explore interactive machines and multimedia.
I enjoy that fact that our museums in SE Michigan are catering more and more to kid-friendly and family-friendly activities. Sloan Museum in Flint hosts 2-3 travelling family fun exhibits per year that children find delightfully entertaining (and sometimes a bit educational too).
