Firehouse Subs Rochester Hills Review and menu info. Firehouse Subs restaurant on N. Rochester Road in Rochester Hills in the North Rochester City Walk Plaza.
Firehouses Subs is a regional subway sandwich chain that started and the southeast United States and are rapidly expanding north (including the Metro Detroit, Oakland County area. Firehouse Subs currently have over 620 locations across the country.
I had a chance to try the new Firehouse Subs location in Rochester Hills recently to see how they fared with other national chains and local Metro Detroit sandwich chains.
Firehouse Subs features a fairly large menu of hot submarine sandwiches, cold subs and salads. They serve their subs in “regular” 8 inch subs and “large” foot-long subs.
The decor is firehouse-theme with dalmation dog table tops and fire equipment adorning the walls.
In some ways, Firehouse Subs Rochester Hills MI is generic. Think of Subway or Quiznos. What sets Firehouse slightly apart from the national chain competitors is the fact that they have some unique menu items that set them apart including: Corned Beef Brisket subs, Virginia Honey Ham, provolone and pastrami subs, chilis and fresh soups.
I ordered the corned beef brisket sub with BBQ sauce. The sub buns at Firehouse are pretty thin – a lot like Subway buns. It wasn’t like ordering a premium sub at Jersey Mike’s or other, nicer deli places but it was satisfactory. All in all, I’d classify Firehouse subs as better than Subway from a taste and quality standpoint and with slightly higher than Subway prices. Firehouse Subs, IMHO, is no Jersey Mike’s or DiBella’s.
