Free Book Vending Machines Detroit – JetBlue’s Soar With Reading program was launched to bring FREE children’s books to Detroit in easily accessible vending machines that distribute the books.
Victoria Justice, actress and recording artist, is an ambassador of the program. My daughter and I had lunch with her to when we were learning more about Soar with Reading.
In partnership with Random House Children’s Books, JetBlue will donate 100,000 books to local children.

Children and their parents will be able to visit the vending machines as often as they like to take home books all summer long free of charge. The machines, which were custom-designed by Innovative Vending Solutions, will be restocked with new titles every two weeks. Additionally, a selection of Spanish-language titles will be available at the Patton Park location.
Researched commissioned by JetBlue found that areas in Detroit had only one book for every 42 children. Last year, the program launched in the Anacostia area of Washington, D.C., distributing more than 27,000 books via the vending machines and an additional 70,000 books through community partners.
